Tourist Visa Requirements
- Original, signed U. S. Passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity beyond stay in Angola, with adequate unused visa pages to allow for entry and exit stamps upon arrival and departure from Angola. Note* Amendment pages in the back of your passport are NOT to be used for entry and exit stamps or visa issuance.
- Visa Application Form. Please download, print, complete and sign the Visa application.
- 2 Recent Passport-type photograph (2″ x 2″) in color, front view with white background.
- Bank statement. Copy of the applicant’s most recent monthly bank statement. The statement must clearly show the applicant’s name as the account holder, the balances of the accounts, and the date of the statement. Bank statement must show proof of sufficient funds.
- Hotel Reservations. Copy of confirmed hotel reservations (Applicant’s name must be on Hotel Reservation).
- Itinerary. Copy of round trip tickets or confirmed itinerary.
Business Visa Requirements
- Original, signed U. S. Passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity beyond stay in Angola, with adequate unused visa pages to allow for entry and exit stamps upon arrival and departure from Angola. Note* Amendment pages in the back of your passport are NOT to be used for entry and exit stamps or visa. Passports must have two available pages.
- Photocopy of passport – The main pages and those containing information on migratory movements.
- Visa Application Form. Please download, print, complete and sign the Visa application.
- 2 Recent Passport-type photograph (2″ x 2″) in color, front view with white background.
- Itinerary. Copy of round trip tickets or confirmed itinerary.
- Bank statement. Guarantee of means of subsistence, equivalent to US$200 per each day of stay in national territory, under the terms of Article 19(1) of Law 2/07 of 31 August. The statement must clearly show the applicant’s name as the account holder, the balances of the accounts, and the date of the statement.
- Business Letter. A business letter from the sending company in the United States. The letter should be printed on the company letterhead stationery, addressed to “Consulate General of Angola, Visa Section”, and signed by a senior manager, Vice-President or above. MUST BE AUTHENTICATED BY THE MINISTRY OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF ANGOLA ( MIREX ). Please include in the letter, Evidence of the legal establishment of the company, a copy of the business permit, a copy of evidence of payment of current taxes (industrial payment tax for the current year); The business letter must adhere to the following guidelines:
- Briefly introduce the applicant and specify employment status/position held in the company by applicant.
- State the nature of the business to be conducted (ie. business meetings, contract negotiations, etc.) and the names and addresses of companies to be contacted in Angola.
- Specify the Type and desired Validity of the visa (ie. a one year multiple entry business visa).
- Guarantee of sufficient funds for travel.
- Sample Company Letter of Guarantee (File size: 48 KB)
- Business Invitation. An Official business invitation letter, with Ministry Seal, from the sponsoring company in Angola with. The letter should be printed on company letterhead stationery, addressed to “Consulate General of Angola, Visa Section”, and signed by a senior manager, Vice-President or above. The business letter must adhere to the following guidelines:
- Briefly introduce the applicant (please specify employment status/position held in the company by applicant).
- State the nature of the business to be conducted (ie. business meetings, contract negotiations, etc.) and the names and addresses of companies to be contacted in Angola.
- Specify the Type and desired Validity of the visa (ie. a single entry business visa).
- Itinerary. Copy of round trip tickets or confirmed itinerary.

- Yellow Fever Vaccination Card.
Transit Visa Requirements
- Original, signed U. S. Passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity beyond stay in Angola, with adequate unused visa pages to allow for entry and exit stamps upon arrival and departure from Angola. Note* Amendment pages in the back of your passport are NOT to be used for entry and exit stamps or visa issuance.
- Visa Application Form. Please download, print, complete and sign the Visa application.
- International certificate of vaccination.
- 2 Recent Passport-type photograph (2″ x 2″) in color, front view with white background.
- Photocopy of the ticket to the country of destination.
- Proof of holding an entrance visa for the country of destination.
- Original and photocopy of passport—the main pages and those containing information on migratory movements.
- Itinerary. Copy of round trip tickets or confirmed itinerary.
- Payment of $50.00 per entry (As of November 2, 2015, payments to the Consular Section should be by Visa, MasterCard or Discover. Only in exceptional cases will money orders be accepted. Processing fees are non-refundable regardless of the outcome of the application).
Short-Term Visa Requirements
- Original, signed U. S. Passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity beyond stay in Angola, with adequate unused visa pages to allow for entry and exit stamps upon arrival and departure from Angola. Note* Amendment pages in the back of your passport are NOT to be used for entry and exit stamps or visa issuance.

- Applicant’s passport must be valid for a period of at least 6 months.
- International Certificate of Vaccination (yellow fever).
- Letter or request from the visa applicant, addressed to the Consular and Diplomatic Mission of Angola (this letter must be notarized).
- Guarantee of means of subsistence, equivalent to US $200, for each day of stay in national territory, under the terms of Article 19(1) of Law 2/07 of 31 August.
- Copy of the hotel reservation with the official stamp from the hotel.
- Itinerary. Copy of round trip tickets or confirmed itinerary.
- Payment of $282.00 per entry (As of November 2, 2015, payments to the Consular Section should be by Visa, MasterCard or Discover. Only in exceptional cases will money orders be accepted. Processing fees are non-refundable regardless of the outcome of the application).
Official Visa Requirements

- 1 Recent Passport-type photograph (2″ x 2″) in color, front view with white background.
- State Department letter. A letter from the US Department of State addressed to the “Embassy of Angola, Washington D.C. “, giving a detailed description of the purpose of travel, the names and addresses of any organizations to be visited, and the dates of the trip. The letter must contain the applicant’s name and the passport number.
- Itinerary. Copy of round trip tickets or confirmed itinerary.
