Gather, complete, and submit the requirements below.

Tourist Visa Requirements

  • Original, signed U. S. Passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity beyond stay in Bangladesh, with adequate unused visa pages to allow for entry and exit stamps upon arrival and departure from Bangladesh. Note* Amendment pages in the back of your passport are NOT to be used for entry and exit stamps or visa issuance.
  • Visa application form.Please download, print, complete and sign the Visa application.
  • 2 Recent Passport-type photograph (2″ x 2″) in color, front view with white background.
  • Proof of status. A copy of immigration status in the United States such as a resident card, work, or study permit.
  • Hotel Reservations. A hotel booking confirmation (Applicant’s name must be on Hotel Reservation) OR
  • Invitation Letter. A letter of invitation with appropriate contact details of the host (required). If the host belongs to any official/business entity, the invitation must be written on an official or business letterhead pad; otherwise, a copy of the NID of the host must be attached with the application.

Business Visa Requirements

  • Original, signed U. S. Passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity beyond stay in Bangladesh, with adequate unused visa pages to allow for entry and exit stamps upon arrival and departure from Bangladesh. Note* Amendment pages in the back of your passport are NOT to be used for entry and exit stamps or visa issuance.
  • Visa Application Form. Please download, print, complete and sign the Visa application.
  • 2 Recent Passport-type photograph (2″ x 2″) in color, front view with white background.
  • Vaccinations – International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever required if arriving from infected area within 5 days.
  • Trade License. A copy of Trade License/Registration Paper or any Government issued Certificate in favor of the host organization.
  • Business Letter. A business letter from the sending company in the United States. The letter should be printed on the company letterhead stationery, addressed to “Consulate General of Bangladesh, Visa Section”, and signed by a senior manager, Vice-President or above. The business letter must adhere to the following guidelines:
    • Briefly introduce the applicant and specify employment status/position held in the company by applicant.
    • State the nature of the business to be conducted (ie. business meetings, contract negotiations, etc.) and the names and addresses of companies to be contacted in Bangladesh.
    • Specify the Type and desired Validity of the visa (ie. a one year multiple entry business visa).
    • Sample Company Letter of Guarantee
  • Business Invitation. A business invitation letter from the sponsoring company in Bangladesh. The letter should be printed on company letterhead stationery, addressed to “Consulate General of Bangladesh, Visa Section”, and signed by a senior manager, Vice-President or above. The business letter must adhere to the following guidelines:
    • Briefly introduce the applicant (please specify employment status/position held in the company by applicant).
    • State the nature of the business to be conducted (ie. business meetings, contract negotiations, etc.) and the names and addresses of companies to be contacted in Bangladesh.
    • Specify the Type and desired Validity of the visa (ie. a single entry business visa).

    Work Visa Requirements

    • Original, signed U. S. Passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity beyond stay in Bangladesh, with adequate unused visa pages to allow for entry and exit stamps upon arrival and departure from Bangladesh. Note* Amendment pages in the back of your passport are NOT to be used for entry and exit stamps or visa issuance.
    • Visa Application Form. Please download, print, complete and sign the Visa application.
    • 2 Recent Passport-type photograph (2″ x 2″) in color, front view with white background.
    • Letter of Employment. A letter from the official organization in Bangladesh arranging the visa. The letter should be printed on company letterhead stationery, addressed to “The Embassy of Bangladesh, Visa Section”, and signed by a senior manager (an equivalent to Vice-President or above). The letter must adhere to the following guidelines:
      • Briefly introduce the applicant.
      • State the nature of the position being offered, salary structure, and duration of the contract.
      • Specify the Type and desired Validity of the visa (ie. a one year multiple entry work visa).
    • Approval Letter. An official letter approved by the Ministry of Labor and Employment in Bangladesh.
