A Visa is REQUIRED for any travel to Cameroon.

Gather, complete, and submit the requirements below.

Tourist Visa Requirements

  • Original, signed U. S. Passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity beyond stay in Cameroon, with adequate unused visa pages to allow for entry and exit stamps upon arrival and departure from Cameroon.  Note* Amendment pages in the back of your passport are NOT to be used for entry and exit stamps or visa issuance.
  • Visa Application Form. Please download, print, complete and sign the Visa application.
  • 2 Recent Passport-type photograph (2″ x 2″) in color, front view with white background.  Glasses should not be worn
  • Bank Statement. Copy of the applicant’s most recent monthly bank statement. The statement must clearly show the applicant’s name as the account holder, the balances of the accounts, the date of the statement, and the complete transaction record for the month.
  • Yellow Fever Vaccination. Copy of International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever will be required.
  • Covid Vaccination Certificate. Front and Back Copy of your Covid Vaccination Card.
  • Itinerary. Copy of round trip tickets or confirmed itinerary.

Business Visa Requirements

  • Original, signed U. S. Passport with at least 6 months of remaining validity beyond stay in Cameroon, with adequate unused visa pages to allow for entry and exit stamps upon arrival and departure from Cameroon.  Note* Amendment pages in the back of your passport are NOT to be used for entry and exit stamps or visa issuance.

  • Letter of invitation. The organization you will be visiting is responsible for providing the invitation. A copy is acceptable. This letter must:
    • Be written on company letterhead
    • Include the full local address and phone number of the organization or person to be visited
    • Request the same validity of visa as in the Business Introduction Letter
    • Specify the number of entries you are requesting for your visa
    • Guarantee financial and legal responsibility for the traveler for the duration of stay
    • Be legalized by the local police department in Cameroon
  • Business Letter. A business letter from the sending company in the US. The letter should be printed on the company letterhead stationery, addressed to “The Consulate of Cameroon, Visa Section”, and signed by a senior manager, Vice-President or above. The business letter must adhere to the following guidelines:
    • Briefly introduce the applicant and specify employment status/position held in the company by applicant.
    • State the nature of the business to be conducted (ie. business meetings, contract negotiations, etc.) and the names and addresses of companies to be contacted in Cameroon.
    • Specify the Type and desired Validity of the visa (ie. a one year multiple entry business visa).
    • Guarantee of sufficient funds for travel.
    • Sample Company Letter of Guarantee
  • Yellow Fever Vaccination. Copy of International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever will be required.
  • Covid Vaccination Certificate. Front and Back Copy of your Covid Vaccination Card.
  • Itinerary. Copy of round trip tickets or confirmed itinerary.

Tourist E-Visa Requirements

  • Passport copy. A clear scan of the information page of your valid, signed passport.
  • Proof of Accommodation. Hotel reservation, letter of invitation from a tour operator legalized by the Police.
  • Proof of Financial Support. Proof of financial support (not required for travelers of Cameroonian origin): Submit the appropriate documentation indicated below:
    – The traveler will be supporting themselves financially during the trip to Cameroon: Submit a recent bank statement (less than 3 months old).
    – Travel expenses will be supported by a third party (individual): Submit a notarized letter of support along with a copy of a recent bank statement (less than 3 months old) from the third party.
    – Travel expenses will be supported by the traveler’s company/organization: Submit a signed letter of financial support/responsibility on company letterhead.
    – The trip is sponsored by an individual/company/organization in Cameroon: Letter of invitation legalized by the Police in Cameroon confirming that travel expenses will be the covered by the inviting party.
  • Letter of Invitation. A certificate of accommodation “certificat d’hebergement” which is undersigned/NOTARIZED by Administrative or Immigration authorities in Cameroon. Note that this is not required if the applicant is of Cameroonian origin.
  • Yellow Fever Vaccination. Copy of International Certificate of Vaccination for Yellow Fever will be required.
  • For Minors. Please provide:
    a. Copy of the minor applicant’s birth certificate.
    b. Copy of official/Court documentation assigning guardianship for legal guardians who are not the minor’s biological parents.
    c. Copies of parents/legal guardians’ valid identification document (identification card, passport or other) and proof of residency status in their country of residence (copy of US or foreign passport, valid visa, residency permit, I-20 form for students, etc.).
    d. Notarized letter of support jointly signed by both parents/legal guardians expressing agreement for the minor’s trip to Cameroon, and specifying who will be traveling with the child. If the letter cannot be signed jointly, 2 separate letters (one for each parent) must be provided.
  • Itinerary. Copy of flight ticket to Cameroon showing the travel itinerary (travel dates and transit cities and countries).

Business E-Visa Requirements
